Ladies' Lounge

Ladies Lounge is a women's only drop in, its located on the 2nd floor of the Salvation Army Building on Market Street, Torquay.  It supports vulnerable women, it is a registered Charity and run by lovely caring volunteers.

During the Pandemic Torbay Ladies' Lounge meets on Mondays and Wednesdays 2-4pm.  We ask our ladies to book in using the mobile number given on this page as numbers are restricted because of the Government Regulations.

Refreshments, snacks and craft are provided - all free of charge.

All Covid-19 safety regulations are administered.  Once all restrictions are lifted we will continue as stated below.  We need more volunteers to help our vulnerable ladies (honumbers of domestic abuse victims are growing) with craft, baking, or listening.  If you are interested please phone or text the mobile number given below or email: ladieslounge@talktalk.net.  You can also follow us on Facebook - @Torbayladieslounge.

We meet Mondays 11.30am - 2pm Main entrance usually open for the food larder.

Wednesdays 1.30pm-4pm (Press the intercom to the left of the door and we will buzz you in) There is a lift opposite the entrance where you take it to the 2nd floor and get to meet lots of friendly volunteers.

We specifically target women who have been victims of domestic abuse, suffer from mental health problems, women with substance misuse, street workers, and rough sleepers.  Ladies Lounge provides a safe friendly environment to support these women.  On Mondays we offer free lunch and we always offer refreshments and cake.

We run a craft table on both days which is a great pace to gain new skills, connections with other ladies and be able to make something special to take home and feel proud of, knowing it was made from scratch in a place they felt comfortable.  We have a craft team of volunteers and activities include making cushion covers, tissue holders, decoupaging, Tea towels, simple bags, pebble painting, ink drop painting and card making to name but a few.  We have local professionals that come in also to run sessions for example jewellery making and mosaic tiles.

Quotes from ladies we have helped

"Ladies Lounge is a safe haven"

"I am so grateful for the care and support I have recieved at ladies Lounge - if it hadn't been for them I would be living on the streets."

We can meet up with ladies before the session if they feel overwhelmed about coming in on their own.  Please follow us on Face book - search @Torbayladieslounge and check out our website www.ladies-lounge.co.uk
