Clearbury is registered to provide accommodation for up to 4 individuals from the age of 16+ who are Deaf and may have additional complex needs.
Specialist equipment and facilities are provided within the home to support the challenges faced with the sensory loss, such as; specialist fire systems, vibrating pads, access to a minicom and internet connection for face time or skype. This also includes a fully signing staff team and support to attend deaf events and integration into the deaf community.
The home provides 24 hour support to all individuals, with a team of up to 3 staff per day (not including the Managers or any additional 1:1 support required). The home also works closely with other local organisations and services to offer a wide choice of activities, hobbies and educational input.
Young adults are encouraged to play an active role in their care and are supported to make decisions about their daily living environment and routine, consent is sought for all aspects of care and any decisions made on behalf of a young adult are always made in their best interest.
