Devon Link-Up

Devon Link-Up is a service user-led organisation for people with learning disabilities  and autism who live in Devon.

We aim to give people a voice and choice about the things that are important in their lives.

Devon Link Up offers a range of activities and services to encourage people to speak up and have a voice, including  independent advocacy and speaking up groups.  Our groups meet monthly and provide access to an independent service where they can meet friends, discuss current issues and get involved with consultation and engagement.

Devon Link Up understands the need for people to meet and have fun and our social groups offer various activities including skittles, walking, quiz and cinema nights.

Our Chain of Events group meets in Newton Abbot on the first Saturday of the month. The Group chooses their activities which include art, drama, music, physical activity and chat; it is based on the well-being principle and provides chance for people to meet their friends and have fun.

Devon Link Up provides Quality Checking services and employs 15 Quality Checkers. The aim of the work is to improve services so that people with Learning Disabilities and Autism can be part of, and remain living independently in their community.

As part of our work with Devon and Cornwall Police, we help organise the Devon Blue Light Day and the Devon BASH awards. These are great events which encourage people to think about being Active, Healthy and Safe and provide opportunities to recognise the great things that people are doing.

Devon Link Up provide easy read information and offer support to change information in to accessible formats.

In line with our core work, we provide a range of specific services for parents with learning disabilities including advocacy support, information and training.  We work with a local charity called SAFE to deliver pattern change courses which focus on domestic abuse for women with learning disabilities.

Devon Link Up offers an information service to assist people with day to day correspondence and issues they need help with. We offer drop in sessions, phone support and community assistance via a team of trained volunteers.

If you have any questions about our work please contact the office on 01404 41235.  Thanks

Devon County Council uses an SEND flag to list services which define themselves as suitable for children and young people with SEND. These are part of Devon's SEND Local Offer. We recommend that you contact the service provider to make sure the service is suitable for your child or young person.
