Home Instead Senior Care provides support to people in their own home to help them live independently. This can include companionship and having a chat, domestic support such as cooking and cleaning, help with reading a book or newspaper, and prompts to take medication. We can also accompany a client on a trip outside of the home, to go shopping, to an appointment or on a social excursion. We can also provide respite care if someone's regular carer needs a break.
We do minimum visits of an hour, often longer, because we don't believe that good quality care can be delivered in anything less than this.
Our CAREGivers are carefully matched to our clients; we find out what the client likes to do, or what they used to enjoy, and we will put a CAREGiver in place who has similar hobbies, so that they will share some common interests and experiences. This means they should build a bond with each other that will benefit the client's wellbeing and quality of life. Each client will be looked after by a small number of CAREGivers, who will develop an ongoing relationship, rather than a different person coming through the door every time.
All of our CAREGivers have passed our rigorous assessment and training program before they go out and visit clients. They will have advanced DBS certificates in place, and will have had at least 4 references checked to verify their suitability for the role. Every one of them wants to make a difference to the lives of the people they are spending time with.
