Beer Men's Shed

The primary aim of Beer Men's Shed, similarly to other "Men's Shed" groups internationally, is to create a workshop-based environment to enable men to socialise and retain a sense of purpose while reducing social exclusion and promoting social inclusion, thereby helping men in our area to have happier and healthier lives.

This is particularly relevant to men who are older (eg retired) or who live alone or who are carers for their partners or family members.  To help regenerate a true sense of purpose requires practical projects with visible benefits for men to carry out.

Our goal is to combine the Beer Men's Shed environment with appropriate equipment and practical and productive projects that together produce real benefits for the local environment and the local community as a whole.

Beer Men's Shed has already taken on over 60 commissions, for local authorities and organisations as well as individuals.  Its activities are intended to attract local residents not only from Beer but also from the surrounding towns and villages such as Axminster, Seaton, Axmouth, Colyton, Colyford, Branscombe, Southleigh, etc.
