DAT (Donkey Assisted Therapy) Sidmouth

During term time The Donkey Assisted Therapy Centre offers a service whereby children attend with their school or group and come for the day or part of the day. We can provide them with lunch, safe indoor and outdoor play areas, and of course therapeutic riding on our specially trained donkeys.

We have a Saturday club once a month where families of children with special needs attend to chat with other families, play, ride and picnic. The children's siblings can also ride at the Club and can see for themselves what happens here at the Centre. We have a drop-in club during the school holidays where children and their families come from all over the country and is the same format as the Saturday Club. Please book in advance.

We also regularly have special needs children from local schools coming to us for work experience. The centre is located within the grounds of the Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth.

Devon County Council uses an SEND flag to list services which define themselves as suitable for children and young people with SEND. These are part of Devon's SEND Local Offer. We recommend that you contact the service provider to make sure the service is suitable for your child or young person.
