IT may be everywhere, but that doesn't mean everyone understands it. If you or a loved one could do with a bit of help and guidance using computers, tablets and Smartphones, or even a push out into the IT waters for the first time, these sessions designed for the over 50s could be just the ticket.
IT for the uninitiated
If you aren’t yet comfortable with the world of IT and computing, we can help you feel more confident. You can use our equipment here in our Beck House office, and get a feel for what IT can do for you. Whether it’s an introduction to using the web, getting and using email, basic word-processing or using spreadsheets for the first time, we can help.
Getting the most out of your new IT device
So you’ve got a new all-singing-all-dancing computer, tablet or Smartphone – what next? You could read the manual – but it’s all in tiny print, and written in German... how will you ever find out how it all works?
Age UK Mid Devon can help! You can bring your laptop, tablet or Smartphone in to us, and our resident IT expert will help you get the most out of it. Whether it’s surfing the web, using apps for leisure, banking or paying bills, watching catch-up TV or video-calling loved ones, we’ll be able to show you how to do it safely and effectively.
We offer one hour sessions, based at Haven Centre, Broad Lane. We can cater for individuals, or for small groups of people – why not get online with a friend!
Sessions cost just £5 for an hour. Home visits can be arranged for clients in Tiverton for a small additional charge.
