Alice Cross Community Centre
Lunch, learning and leisure facilities for those aged 50+. Stay fit and healthy. Keep those niggles of ageing at bay.
The centre offers a range of activities, such as keep fit, tai chi, table tennis, ballroom, line and Eastern dancing, yoga, pilates, seated yoga, seated exercise, art, craft and photography classes, singing and music and drama performances.
Tablet and iPad classes help centre users to get to grips with modern technology in order to keep up to date with family, friends and other interests. Regular drop in sessions are held where users can discuss navigational issues and explore other advantages.
We have a large, 5* rated kitchen and run a luncheon club and drop in coffee and tea bar 5 days a week. Lots of opportunities to meet people and make new friends. One Tuesday each month we have Drive & Dine when we provide transport to the Centre for those who need it. Our monthly Sunday lunch (roast or vegetarian) is very popular. We are now running a monthly Lunch & Learn session - an informative talk followed by a 2-course lunch.
We are now hosting a monthly Bereavement Support group run by Roots and Open Daw. Our Memory Café is held every Thursday morning at the Centre.
Every Monday we run a fitness programme linked to the Trim Teign weight loss activity at the Centre. We also stage cookery classes on Wednesdays.
New creative writing group on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month.
Please see website for full details of activities and events.
