Exeter (St Thomas) Memory Cafe
Memory Cafés exist to provide support, activities, and information in a relaxed social environment for people either with memory loss, or who are concerned about memory loss, and their carers. They are supported by a team of volunteers and aim to offer a welcoming and empathic environment.
Activities vary according to peoples’ preferences; however, they typically include elements to encourage reminiscence, such as music, poetry, photos and quizzes. Arts and crafts also feature, as well as games that are stimulating and fun. On occasion guest speakers attend to talk about topics that are of particular relevance and interest to attendees. Refreshments such as tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. There are no charges (although donations gratefully accepted) and people are welcome to just turn up on the day.
