North Devon Local Studies Centre

The Local Studies Centre is staffed by Devon Libraries working together and in co-operation with Devon Archives and Local Studies Service (see separate listing for details of collections) and the North Devon Athenaeum.

Our combined resources provide an integrated local studies information service for the local and family historian, from beginner or casual enquirer to expert. Collections include books, periodicals, council minutes, electoral registers, maps, newspapers, cuttings files, illustrations, ephemera and General Register Office index.

We also provide free access to Ancestry, Findmypast, DocumentsOnline and the British Newspaper Archive (subject to terms and condtions). We aim to provide information and assist research at all levels regarding family, house and local history, as well as current information.
