Youth Genesis Trust - Dartmouth

The Youth Genesis Trust works with young people in the community, mainly those who engage in risk taking behaviour in areas such as young offending, relationships, health, substance misuse, employment, training and education.

There are three main sessions which take place in Dartmouth on a weekly basis during term time.

“Decks Youth Venue” is base at the Ivy Lane Young Peoples Centre on Thursday evenings from 6.30 to 8.30pm. Entry is £1 for members and £1.50 for non-members. The session offers young people aged 11-17 football, table tennis, crafts, cooking, music, dance and workshops around various issues that teenagers may face.

The second weekly session is “The Point” Youth Drop-In which takes place at St Clements Church Hall in Townstal on Friday nights from 7.00 to 9.00pm. With similar activities to Decks, The Point is a great space for young people to chill and hang out with friends and at the same time access support from one of the Youth Support Workers. Entry costs 50p with access to a tuck shop

The Third is the Youth Leisure Nights held at Fusion Leisure centre in Dartmouth, entry fee is £1. Offering an hour of Sports activities in the Hall.

“Streetbase” sessions take place alongside “The Point2 on Friday evenings.

Streetbase is our detached youth work project on the streets of Townstal. It engages young people on their terms to provide support, a listening ear and offer information about services they can access or how they can start their own projects in their community.
