Avocados Advocacy CIC is a new organisation set up to be run by and work with children in care and those with care experience who are living in Devon County.
We have a mixture of paid for and free services and a shop. Our aim is to support children in care and those with care experiences to have the same access to opportunities as their peers,to create community and a network of support. We welcome anyone with care experience of any age who are currently living in Devon.
Mentoring young people in care or children/young adults with any care experience, £18 per hour plus travel costs and expenses. We are fully trained and have enhanced DBS checks, with experience of working with children/ adults with all levels of need. Full safeguarding policies in place.
We can help support young people to access clubs and activities that they might not be able to continue with, due to going into care. OR start new clubs, meet new people.
Employability support, access to education or support with educational attainment.
Holistic approach following the 5 steps to wellbeing.
Legal Advocacy -A new service for those with care experience 18+ to explore and understand any legal questions that they might have related to their care experiences.
Online chat support and peer support groups available on our website.
We also have spaces on our committee for anyone 16+ and our Stakeholder board 18+ with care experience, who is interested to get involved with the development of or oversight of the running of Avocados Advocacy CIC.
