Learning, working and volunteering

This section provides information about schools, further education, adult learning and education support services. It is for people who would like information about employment, or are looking for work or training opportunities. It is for people who are willing to give time and skills as a volunteer.

It also provides details of organisations, including voluntary ones that can help disabled people and people with additional needs to find employment or support them in employment.

Information and guidance

Adult learning

This section contains details of adult learning facilities for parents, adults and senior citizens as well as charities providing activities for those with disabilities. Learning options include GCSE English and maths courses.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are work-based programmes, for those aged 16 and over, that lead to a nationally recognised qualifications. They can be for existing or new staff and take 1 – 4 years to complete dependent on the level and subject area.

Cookery and healthy eating

This section contains details of businesses and charities, which help people of all ages eat healthily. These organisations teach people about obesity, budgeting and healthy eating, or help to prepare healthy meals in your home.

Fundraising and charity work
